Access to Work
Access to Work is a government programme that gives you (and your employer) financial support towards the extra costs which can arise at work due to your disability or health condition.
Access to Work can give funding towards things like equipment, the cost of getting to work or towards a support worker. It can also pay towards some or all of the costs for a communicator at job interviews.
You may be eligible for Access to Work if you:
- Are in or about to start a paid job
- Are about to start a work trial
- Need the support of a communicator at interview
- Are self employed
The amount of help you receive from Access to Work will vary depending on how long you have been employed, what support you need and whether you are self-employed.
Please have a chat with our Employment Bureau or visit the Directgov website for more information on Access to Work.
